Good reinforcment of why proper behavior expected from adults when at children's activity events. Personally, I have made comments to my husband when he is viewing pro-sports and a player / coach is having a tempertantrum, it is amazing how their fit is acceptable in 'their workplace'---no other work environment allows this type of behavior.
It is so important for us to be aware of the examples we are setting.

Great shows. Excellent reinforcing of the obvious and coverage of the not-so-obvious basic methods. Easy to understand and implement.
You made the roleplaying with Izzy (sp?) an entertaining and informative way of demonstating bullying and the appropriate responses.
Technical note: It would be nice if the episodes were dated so we could see which date we are selecting when listening to old shows.

We have very little fighting in our house because our nine year old can get whatever she wants from the six year old without conflict. She always gives the bigger piece of pizza off her plate, the pink stuffed animal, the first turn whatever is "the best". consequently the older child is used to being given everything and can be very greedy. She doesn't share anything. Is this normal sibling behavior? Are we raising a door mat and a greedy child? Should we step in?

Great advice for handling everyday challenges with kids. I have used many of your tips and they have been very helpful. I would like to hear a show on how to help kids handle stressful events that affect the whole family like parents losing jobs, home foreclosure, serious illnesses, death, national disasters, etc.

Oh, if this technology was around when mine were younger!!!!! Great topics and coverage of the subjects. I love your authenticity and down to earth approach... parenting is the hardest thing anyone will ever do and with the most impact on our world. Thanks for keeping it real and being a encouragement. Let us know how we can help with stories, questions, topics etc...

I really enjoyed listening to Parent Talk with Kary today. As Kary emphasized, I think it is so important for us to remember that oftentimes the more traditional methods of communication are the best methods of communicating with our kids. Thank you so much for providing such timely and relevant parenting information - I think we all need it!

Kary,
Great show that gave me lots to think about! During your first show you spoke about how we learn our parenting techniques from our own parents. Scary! - LOL - As obvious as that might seem, I had never thought about it, but you made me think about some things I hear myself say/do that my parents did when I was a kid. Thanks for that.
Could you possibly address the unique challenges of being a step-parent? Sometimes it feels like that's a more challenging tightrope walk than parenting your own. Let me know if/when you are able to address it! Thanks. And keep up the GREAT work!

This was sooo helpful. This time of day is so stressful for me and her suggestions were right on target. I implemented the "plan" and it made all the difference. You can tell she's actually a real mom who goes through the same stuff we all do. I also like how personal Kary is -- it's more like talking to a good friend rather than being lectured to by an expert. Two thumbs up for Parent Talk with Kary.
