Recently I noticed a few things on the Internet that have changed. My cell phone providers’ page, my home page (Yahoo), one of my credit cards pages’, a familiar magazine that I’ve subscribed to for years, have all redesigned their style of presentation; even my my-space has a new look (or you can use the classical look). After several failed attempts to connect with each (and make a payment or inquiry), I had to search for the proper button in order to make my selection. Things were not in the same familiar place, nor did the pages operate in the same ways that I was accustomed to.
Change can be frustrating. Sometimes you have to move out of your “comfort zone” and do something different. Change forces you to think. It suggests that you create something that you will be responsible for. You won’t be able to blame the failed dessert on Grandma when you decide to take her recipe and “tweak it” this year. Why do you think some foods are called “comfort foods”? They make you feel good and a good bowl of chili on a cold day can make you feel good all over.
So whatever you decide to do towards the end of this year, and years to come, add a little of both; some of the old and some of the new. Keep a few traditions and start a few of your own (that’s change). Enjoy the season of Christmas and remember that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.
