Food Pantry & Supper Program Descriptions
by Trudy MacIntyre

The Haven from Hunger is a non-profit food pantry/meal program located at 71 Wallis Street, Peabody MA. Our food pantry program is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Our clients are single mothers, the elderly, the handicapped, those on fixed incomes and what is now termed the "working class poor." We provide our clients with good, nutritional food that consists of fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, dairy products, etc. Our evening meal program serves a hot, nutritional meal four evenings each week at 5: 00 p.m.

The Haven does not receive any federal funding. Our funding comes from grants, foundations, corporations, churches, societies, schools, individual contributions and the Walk for Hunger. Our staff consists of one full time employee and three part time employees. We have a large volunteer base and volunteer opportunities are always available during the day for the food pantry and also in the evening for our supper program.

If you need any further information or are interested in organizing a food drive, preparing or serving dinner, you can reach us at 978-531-1530 or at www.havenfromhunger.org. Monetary donations are always welcome.
